Captain James (Jim) Boyd is the captain who lives in the lighthouse tower near Anne's House of Dreams. James Matthew (Jem) Blythe is named after him, and he is a bachalor. He is very homley, sweet and kind. Anne and Gilbert Blythe love him and name their son after him, which makes him extreamly happy. He has a life-book, which was publiushed by Leslie's second husband. He died just after finishing it, and it got very good reviews. He was extreamly proud of his life-book. He was a sailor and lighthouse owner. When he died, he got a huge expensive and ugly monument he would've never wanted and would've poked sly fun at in real life.
